Kogi Set to Host Maiden Half Marathon on Jan 22, 2026

The Kogi State Government is gearing up to host the inaugural Kogi Half Marathon on January 22, 2026, in Lokoja, the state capital.

The event aims to promote youth development, healthy living, sports excellence, and tourism, while showcasing Lokoja as a hub for sporting and recreational activities.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, announced the event at a press briefing, expressing gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for creating an enabling environment for youth and sports development.

The marathon aligns with the administration’s commitment to empowering young people through sports, fostering unity, and positioning Kogi State as a destination for national and international sporting events.
